On behalf of our production partners and community of dancers, ARTS at University Settlement announces SAVE THE MUSIC, a performance marathon raising funds for Preservation Hall's New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund and promoting awareness for New Orleans arts and culture. The 7pm showcase will feature Louisiana artists whose families and friends have been directly affected by Hurricane Katrina. SAVE THE MUSIC recognizes the significant role that New Orleans plays in the evolution of jazz and blues music, which in turn continues to influence broader performing arts and culture on a national level. SAVE THE MUSIC directly benefits those affected in the wake of this devastating disaster, while also underlining the importance of arts and culture in rebuilding and sustaining communities.
