The Bridge
What is dance-theater? Where in the arts spectrum does it belong? The Bridge is a workshop and performance series encouraging artists and audiences to explore and critique the boundaries of this interdisciplinary form.
Selected participants receive a one hour tech and a performance slot for up to 15 minutes of work; in addition to this performance, artists receive an honorarium, a video of their work, and a workshop rehearsal with fellow participants and Bridge co-curators Jake Hooker and Sara Juli one month prior to the showcase.
Past Participants include Ariane Anthony & Company, The National Theatre of Elsewhere, Vanessa Paige Dance, KineticArchitecture, Jen Abrams, Alexx Makes Dance, Kirsten Johansen, Rebecca Lazier/TERRAIN, deep ellum ensemble, 1863 Inc., The Immediate Theater Company, Janusz Jaworski & Katie Down among others.
Artists considered for The Bridge, were asked to complete an application and submit, along with resume, a video representation of your work (not necessarily the one you are proposing), and a SASE should to the curators during specific application cycles..
